A unique Key West conch-style home design and almost 50 energy-efficient Simonton vinyl windows helped make builder Allan Yuhasz’s entry in the 2012 Brunswick Parade of Homes a Diamond Award winner. Presented in conjunction with the 10th Annual Brunswick County (N.C.) Home Builders Association Parade of Homes, the Diamond Award recognizes a handful of top builders participating in the 50-home show.
“This home’s design is all about moving light throughout the interior to make the homeowner feel connected with the outdoors,” says Yuhasz, founder of QRI Construction Corp. in Supply, N.C. “The energy-efficient Simonton ProFinish® Master windows we used in the home’s construction allowed us to build an abundance of light flow into this home. I’m especially pleased with the two-story interior tower staircase that floods the house with natural sunlight.
“It’s the universal energy efficiency, quality and details of the home that make this house a winner. The Simonton windows are a great example. Their quality of construction and ease of installation and operation, matched up with their thermal factors and wind ratings simply can’t be beat.”
Accented by Bahama-style decorative shutters on the exterior of the tower staircase, each custom-made Simonton ProFinish Master window in this home features ProSolar® Low E glass with an Argon gas fill and crisp white vinyl frames. The Intercept spacer system and dual glazed insulated glass units help ensure maximum energy efficiency and that every window meets ENERGY STAR requirements.
“I’ve used Simonton windows on more than 60 projects in the past and keep coming back to Simonton as my preferred window product,” says Yuhasz. “These windows are clearly winners … and they help make my homes winners!”
The QRI Construction parade of homes entry, which included a variety of Simonton Double Hung, Colonial Casement and Picture windows, also received awards for “Best Trim” and “Best Outdoor Living Space” in the competition.
