Contractor Steve Roth is seeing green. Just days after completing the renovation of an 1865-constructed house in Hillsdale, Mich. he had the home rented out. And, everywhere he looks on the exterior, he sees Pine green window frames on the newly-installed Decorum® by Simonton vinyl windows.
“This was a foreclosure situation that needed a total inside and out renovation,” says Roth. “The architecture of the home leans towards a log cabin feel, so I wanted natural colors on the outside and the look of wood on the inside.
“I knew I wanted low-maintenance vinyl windows, so I searched for upgrade options that would give me the aesthetics I needed as well as the energy efficiency features desired. That search led me to Simonton.”
For the home, Roth installed 17 Simonton double hung and four casement windows all with Pine exteriors and Maple interiors from the Decorum by Simonton collection. Colonial color-matched sculptured grids and dark bronze hardware completed the window package. To achieve the energy efficiency he desired in the home, Roth requested a double glazed glass package with Low E softcoat and an Argon gas fill.
“As soon as the new renters saw this house they fell in love with it,” says Roth. “Now I’m on to my next project and thanks to this positive experience, I’ll definitely be specifying Simonton windows again.”
