When dreaming of their new lakeside home in Michigan, homeowners Jill and Mark Greer knew exactly what they wanted. Windows ... and lots of them.
After researching their options, the Greers invested in energy-efficient Simonton ProFinish Brickmould 600 windows.
"We wanted to spend our time enjoying the view of the lake and not caring for the windows," says Mark Greer. "However, we realistically know that we get cold, snowy weather here part of the year, so we wanted new construction windows that could help us save on our energy costs."
The 12 Double Hung Simonton windows in the Greer home are all ENERGY STAR qualified and feature an Argon gas fill, Intercept spacer system and double glazed glass. A 5-lite casement bow window in the kitchen and a 3-panel sliding patio door in the living room were also constructed with energy-efficient glass packages.
"The windows in this home allow us to easily connect with the outdoors," says Julie Greer. "We're especially pleased with the driftwood color of the vinyl frames and grids because they complement our wood interiors.
"In every way, these windows and doors allow us to interact with our setting and provide us with a feeling of comfort and security."
