New Year's Resolution

Looking for a great way to start 2013? Resolve to “get smarter” by participating in Simonton University!

An integral part of the Simonton ProNetwork, Simonton University consists of four “colleges” designed for contractors, ProNetwork^™ members, architects, builders, distributors and interior designers. The four programs include:

• The College of Windows and Doors – focusing on product knowledge and new product launches;
• The Business School – highlighting business fundamentals in sales, marketing, accounting and e-business;
• The Technical College – home of the Simonton Preferred Installer training programs, along with code and regulatory training;
• The Architectural School – including product specifications and links to product drawings, certified AIA courses, white papers on green building, and sustainability programs.

Courses throughout the no-cost Simonton University have been created by a variety of industry experts, including: 

• Victoria Downing with Remodelers Advantage who has developed the courses of “Keeping Leads Hot” and “How to Hire, Train and Keep Employees.”
• Rick Davis with Building Leaders Inc. who has developed a “Creating a Winning Customer Experience” series along with tips for enhancing in-home selling experiences.
• Diane Gibson, a certified QuickBooks instructor who has developed courses on how to set up a job costing system and controlling labor costs.
• John Wagner, a nationally-recognized green building consultant, who has developed an AIA-approved online course on sustainability.
• Kate Smith, with Sensational Color, who has developed color psychology, symbolism and meaning courses.

“Contractors receive quick and easy access to Simonton University courses once they sign up as a ProNetwork member,” says Rebecca Taylor, national training coordinator for Simonton Windows. “After that time they can select any course that interests them in order to build up their personal and business skills.

The free Simonton University programs are available 24/7 HERE.  Some courses are restricted for Simonton ProNetwork members only, and ProNetwork members gain points for each course completed. Accumulated points can be used for redemption of items available through ProNetwork, the company’s comprehensive business-building program for builders, remodelers, contractors and dealers.
