Everyone knows Texans think big. So, when Harold Holigan decided to build a 16,000 square-foot home in Dallas, he needed to think about a big number of windows --- and he selected Simonton new construction vinyl windows.
With nine bathrooms, 11 bedrooms and 12 common rooms (including game, media and pool/spa rooms), the Holigan house is impressive by anyone's standards. "We specified lots of windows to open up the home and connect it with the outdoors," says architect John Lively of John Lively and Associates in Carrollton, Texas.
The result was 105 energy-efficient Simonton vinyl home windows and 10 Simonton patio doors.
"We talked about lots of window options that would complement the style and design of this house," says Holigan. "After all our research, the clear and obvious choice was Simonton Windows.
"The construction quality is impressive. In addition, we specified ENERGY STAR compliant windows with Low E glass so we're assured of top performance for years to come. With the incredible temperature changes we experience in Dallas, it's critical that our windows work for us."
Within the 32-room house visitors find a large assortment of Simonton casement, picture, single hung, transom and archtop windows. One of the most unique settings is a French-hinged garden door in a guest suite surrounded by sidelites and half eyebrow windows.
"It's impressive that Simonton can transform their vinyl windows into show pieces that match different areas of the home," says Holigan. "Between the variety of products and the quality of the windows, people are pleasantly surprised at how well these windows and doors complement the home and the entire neighborhood."
