Thanks to the editors at Professional Builder magazine, there's plenty of good news to share related to home exteriors.
As reported in the January 2014 issue of Professional Builder, survey results indicate that builders believe great design and curb appeal are at the very top of the list for what's important to homebuyers with regard to the home exterior, followed closely by low maintenance. Lower on the scale of importance --- but still high on the list --- is energy efficiency, weather-tight construction and expansive windows for daylighting and views.
As the story puts it, "curb appeal is king, and materials that require less painting and maintenance, and possess more durability are gaining." Enter vinyl windows.
Not surprisingly, another answer in the survey points to the growing popularity of windows. The question "In which areas have you had the most success selling home exterior upgrades" had the answer of "windows" as the top choice. Why? We can only believe that vinyl windows in particular, with all their curb appeal, low maintenance and energy efficiency options meet the buyer's desire for great design, curb appeal and easy-care.
